Kauai Paddlefest 2013 Photos and Results

Paddle Fest Kauai is an annual summer event bringing together paddlers on 6 man outrigger canoes (OC-6), 1 man outrigger canoes (OC-1) Stand Up Paddlers (SUP) and even a 4-man outrigger canoe. Outrigger canoe clubs and individual paddlers come from all over Kauai to compete. The host of this event is the Kukui’ula Outrigger Canoe Club providing food, music and prizes. Kukui’ula Outrigger Canoe Club Fund-Raising
The Kukui’ula Outrigger Canoe Club hosted Paddle Fest and has several fund-raisers during the year. The club uses these funds to support their keiki (children) paddling program as well as their ability to continue to train new members and maintain paddling supplies. Participating in and sponsoring these events supports the very important traditions of paddling in Hawaii.

I have participated in the Family Fun Run twice. There are opportunities for every level of runner and even walkers. The mayor comes out for it. It is a lot of fun. And the race paths have wonderful views.

Saturday, August 3: HCRA State Championship is being held on Kauai in Hanalei! 

Kukui’ula Outrigger Canoe Club will have a booth with delicious mango shaved ice, fresh waffle ice cream cones and frappucinos for sale. Purchases at any of the vendor booths supports the tradition of authentic Hawaiian canoe racing. Opening ceremonies are at 7:45am and races begin at 8:15am at Hanalei Pavilion Beach Park, Hanalei Bay. The public is welcome to watch and take photos but please be advised that there will be significant traffic in the area and parking will be tight. County of Kauai has issued a County of Kauai Traffic Pattern and Restrictions for HCRA.
